Halloween Carnival

In October of 2010, we had our Annual Halloween Carnival for both the children of the Parish as well as the surrounding neighborhood. Games, prizes, sweets and pies prepared and donated by the Knight's wives, and a Haunted House built by the local Boy Scouts were all a part of the fun.

Scouts

We are the Chartered Organization for both a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout Troop. In January of 2011, we recognized the Troops ninth Eagle Scout at his Court of Honor with a Certificate of Achievement from Supreme and an engraved Buck Knife. In March of 2011, we presented our Boy Scout Troop with a new American Flag. The Council was represented by members of the Fourth Degree in full Regalia.

Scholarship Program

In March and April of 2011, we sponsored breakfasts for our Youth Scholarship Program. Our goal was to be able to double the value of the two scholarships we awarded last year. We met this goal and were able to award a $1000 and a $500 scholarship to two college-bound high school seniors. The scholarships were awarded at the Graduation Mass on the first Sunday in June.

Essay and Soccer Penalty Kick Contests

In February of 2011, we held an Essay Contest. The topic was "The Responsibility of a Catholic Citizen in a Free Society". Ninth and tenth graders competed in one group, and eleventh and twelfth graders in another. First place winners received a $200 savings bond and second place a $100 savings bond.

In June of 2011, we participated in a Soccer Penalty Kick Contest held at Mt. Spokane High School. The purpose was to outline the rules for a international penalty kick competition this fall. It was open to everyone 10 through 14 years of age. Council Championships for boys and girls in each age group to be held in September, followed by District, Regional, and then State level competition.
