Sanctuary Renewal

You will notice that we have another addition to our sanctuary renewal. Because of the generosity of one of our parishioners, we now have a beautiful votive stand in the corner of the sanctuary. The light of the candle is a symbol of faith, truth, wisdom, virtue, grace, the divine life, charity, the ardor of prayer and the sacred presence which flow from Christ Himself. With this background, we can appreciate the usage of votive candles. Here, as in early Christian times, we light a candle before a statue or sacred image of our Lord or of a saint. Of course, we do not honor the statue or the image itself, but the one whom that statue or image represents. The light signifies our prayer offered in faith coming into the light of God. With the light of faith, we petition our Lord in prayer, or petition the saint to pray with us and for us to the Lord. The light also shows a special reverence and our desire to remain present to the Lord in prayer even though we may depart and go about our daily business.
 
We are happy to report that upon seeing the beautiful votive stand, another couple in our parish were quick to donate a new statue for that area. We will soon have a beautiful statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to adorn the corner where the votive stand is.

Other goals of Fr. Brian, the Parish Council and the Finance Council include removing the carpet around the altar and putting down marble tiles, and candles with kneelers by the baptism font. Sanctuary Renewal   Our sanctuary is getting a facelift. You can give one time, or monthly, to help us improve the look of our Sanctuary. Improvements include candles and kneelers, marble time around the altar, and in time new paint and carpet.	Endowment Fund An endowment fund is monies that can never be spent, but the interest made from the money is used for very specific purposes, voted on by the Parish Council.
